Our Vehicles
It may be hard to think of one of our massive trucks as environmentally friendly but in fact our freight network which collects and centralises small cargoes for distribution throughout the UK and Europe is the most efficient method of transferring goods.
The alternative to just one of our modern vehicles travelling from Scotland to Birmingham would be scores of vans scurrying across the UK.
And our new vehicles give up to three per cent lower fuel consumption, three per cent lower carbon dioxide emissions, 40 per cent lower oxides of nitrogen emissions and higher power outputs. The new engines are also the cleanest ever and meet the new Euro 5 emission requirements that come into force in October 2009.
Our Systems and Procedures
We're moving increasingly to a paperless workflow. Our customers can now place and pay for their orders online and receive confirmation by email. At the delivery point the Proof of Delivery is captured on-screen on a handheld device and transmitted to our Head Office computer. Our drivers use handheld computers to keep them informed of collections and deliveries.
